This warden message is being issued to notify U.S. citizens residing or traveling in Bolivia that the travel warning issued for Bolivia on September 12, 2008, has been cancelled, effective October 23, 2008.
The conditions described in the warning no longer exist and the Department of State has lifted authorized departure for post. Up-to-date information on safety and security can be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S., or for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll-line at 1-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except on U.S. federal holidays.
U.S. citizens visiting or resident in Bolivia should, as a matter of standard good practice, register and update their contact information at the U.S. Embassy in La Paz or complete a registration form on-line at https://travelregistration.state.gov. During regular work hours, the American citizens services unit at the Embassy in La Paz may be reached at 591-2-216-8297 and at the website http://bolivia.usembassy.gov.
