On August 14, Public Affairs Officer Aruna Amirthanayagam donated more than 200 books to the community library of San Pedro de Tiquina in the Manco Kapak province. The donation is part of the program "The United States and Bolivia – United in Reading." The U.S. Embassy has donated more than 35,000 books to more than 110 libraries in all 9 departments of Bolivia since the program began in 2004. The program strives to provide information about the U.S. while enhancing a culture of reading among Bolivian youth. On this occasion the PAO also inaugurated the recently created library where the books will be available to the local population.
