Postponed or Missed Appointments

If you need to ask for a delayed appointment with the Consular Section, or if you missed your originally-scheduled appointment, please contact  the call center using the PIN card that you can acquire in any DHL office. They will schedule a new appointment date based on space availability.

Emergency and Urgent Humanitarian Travel

Applicants who need to travel to the United States urgently for humanitarian or other emergency reasons should first call the Call Center to schedule an appointment. Follow the instructions for scheduling an appointment HERE.

The Call Center has expedited/emergency appointments available on a daily basis.  If you meet the criteria you can request one of these appointments.

The Consular Section considers the following situations examples of those eligible to apply for expedited appointments:

  • Humanitarian cases, including but not limited to travel for emergency medical treatment or to attend to family emergencies (such as death of immediate family members), as well as travel to support immediate family members receiving medical treatment or dealing with these emergencies

Applicants should be prepared to present documentary evidence of the reason for their expedited appointment request. Relevant documentation should include a letter from a U.S. doctor or hospital with a brief explanation of the patient's condition or necessary medical treatment.

Please note that an expedited appointment in no way guarantees that the visa will be granted.  Each applicant must qualify for a visa under U.S. Immigration Law.  If issued, a visa normally will be printed on the same day and off-site delivery will be arranged through DHL delivery service for the following day. Ocassionally, unforseen computer problems may delay visa printing.

Expedited Visa for Business Travel

Applicants who need to travel to the United States urgently for business should first call the Call Center to schedule an appointment. Follow the instructions for scheduling and appointment HERE.

The Call Center has expedited/emergency appointments available on a daily basis.  If you meet the criteria you can request one of these appointments.

In order to qualify for an expedited appointment, the business emergency must be a specific event such as a conference, a meeting, or a training class. Only the individual business traveler may come to the emergency appointment; the family of the traveler cannot be interviewed at that time.

Applicants should be prepared to present documentary evidence of the business reason for their expedited appointment at the time of their interview. This should include a letter from the company in the U.S., conference programs, dates and other information as necessary.

Please note that an expedited appointment in no way guarantees that the visa will be granted. Each applicant must qualify for a visa under U.S. visa Immigration law. If issued, a visa normally will be printed on the same day and off-site delivery will be arranged through the DHL delivery service the following day, Occasionally, unforseen computed problems may delay visa printing.

Expedited Visa for Students and Exchange Visitors

Applicants who need to travel to the United States urgently to begin their studies should first call the Call Center to schedule an appointment. Follow the instructions for scheduling an appointment HERE.

The Call Center has appointments available on a daily basis for students and exchange visitors.  If you meet the criteria, you can request one of these appointments.

Students should carefully review the information on the Student Visa page and should come prepared to the interview with all necessary documents. Interviewing officers may request documents demonstrating the start of the school term.
