Federal and State Income Taxes

All U.S. Citizens must report their income to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) each year. Living or earning income outside the United States does not relieve a U.S. citizen of the responsibility for filing tax returns. Many Bolivians who work in the United States or derive income from U.S. sources are also required to file annual income tax returns with the IRS.

The Consular Section cannot provide assistance on tax matters.
For more information and for downloading online tax forms, visit the IRS home page.
