On August 31st, U.S. Embassy Charge D'Affaires, Larry Memmott, inaugurated the project "Preservation of five colonial chapels in Curahuara de Carangas".  This project aims to restore the chapels in Santa Barbara, Ojsani, Kilviri, Cotasaya, and Kellcata, with funding from the Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation program. The event included the participation of local authorities and the media.  These chapels have great historic and cultural importance and we expect to celebrate the conlcusion of the restoration efforts by the end of the year.

The Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation is a worldwide program that started in 2001. Since then, the U.S. Embassy in Bolivia has invested almost $330,000 in the restoration of the Bolivian cultural patrimony.
