There are several ways to enter U.S. Government service with the Department of State. The most common method is by taking the Foreign Service Written Exam which is usually offered every year in the United States and in each U.S. Embassy worldwide. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 20 years and no more than 59 years of age on the day of the examination, and available for assignments worldwide. For more information, visit:
