Inauguration of new CerealesAndina food processing plant

"On Tuesday, December 9th, Chargé d’Affaires, Krishna Urs and USAID Acting Director, Peter Natiello, along with GOB representatives, participated in the inauguration of a new Cereales Andina quinoa processing plant located in the city of El Alto.  Cereales Andina is the sixth quinoa processor and exporter to benefit from new equipment designed with USAID support. The new quinoa processing equipment has the capacity to process and export seven 20-ton containers in a single 8-hour shift, while using 40 percent less water and energy than the former technology. This activity is part of the Quinoa Alliance, a GDA of 14 institutions, companies and local producers aimed at increasing quinoa exports five-fold for the benefit of the Bolivian people.”
