Travel Registration
Prior to departing for Bolivia or as soon as you arrive in country, you should enroll in person, by telephone or by email with the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in La Paz or with any of the two Consular Agencies located in Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. Enrollment can also be done online at http://travel.state.gov . Enrollment will make your presence and whereabouts known in case it is necessary to contact you in an emergency. If you enroll in person, you should bring your U.S. passport with you. Your passport data will be recorded at the Consular Section, thereby making it easier for you to apply for a replacement passport should it be lost or stolen.
