Embassy Events 2011
Santa Visits Bolivia
By C. Gallardo
American diplomacy is not the only thing that U.S. Embassy officers and their families have in mind during the holiday season in Bolivia. Traditionally, they carry out a number of charitable activities around this time of the year. This season, Embassy employees and members of the U.S. Marines detachment, donated toys under the "Toys for Tots" program to children who are receiving medical care and rehabilitation at the Burn Center Foundation (Fundación Pro Centro del Quemado) in La Paz. Also, the Chargé d'Affaires and his family visited several small communities in the Bolivian highlands to give toys to needy children. In this occasion, they traveled to several remote rural communities where Mr. and Mrs. Creamer, along with their two children, delivered dolls, soccer balls, and other presents.
