U.S. Citizens Services
The American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section provides a wide range of services to U.S. citizens visiting or residing in Bolivia.
So we can better serve you, we encourage you to enroll with the Embassy through the State Department website if you will be traveling or living in Bolivia. In case of emergency, call (591-2) 216-8246, from Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8am to 12pm, or (591-2) 216-8500 after hours.
Please note that the American Citizens Service Unit does not answer visa related questions neither by phone nor by appointment. Any questions regarding visa matters should be directed either to the Non-Immigrant Visa section by sending an email to ConsularLaPazNIV@state.gov or to the Immigrant Visa section ConsularLaPazIV@state.gov . You can also visit the visa section of this website where you can find more information.
Individuals who require any non-emergency service, including passport renewals (and passport extra pages), birth registrations, notarial services, federal benefits and general inquiries, must first make an appointment before coming to the Embassy or to any of the Consular Agencies. Only customers with appointments will be admitted into the Consular Section or Agencies for all non-emergency matters.
