On Saturday, August 25 the U.S. Embassy soccer team played a match against the local team of the town of Carreras, Municipality of Mecapaca, La Paz. The team has played in 21 rural communities so far.

Justino Castillo, secretary of sports of the community, thanked for the visit and the presents donated by the Embassy soccer team. Castillo encouraged the Embassy to continue to support this type of sporting events in the future. After the game, the team was invited by the community to enjoy a traditional potluck or "apthapi" that included typical Andean food.

The Embassy and community teams played a very balanced game. The result speaks for itself: 6-6! At the end of the match, the U.S. Embassy team presented a donation to the community consisting of soccer balls and a variety of equipment for soccer training on behalf of the people and government of the United States.
